Is this thing on?

Yeah, I've not written anything in, um, far too long. Mostly my life has been far too boring to write about, save for the occasional instances when my life has been far too interesting to write about. Either way, you've not really been missing much, I promise.

As everyone knows, unless you're like me, to whom the calendar is much like a mystery novel with a surprise ending, NaNoWriMo approaches. I plan to do it again, because I'm insane, and I've actually convinced Stan to do it with me, which should be good, because I would type all 50,000 words with my nose rather than let him beat me.

Last year I kept my novel rated PG-13 on purpose lest my family want to read it, since they used to pester me all the time when I let them know I was writing. It turned out that they actually could not be bothered to read any of it, so this year I think I'll write whatever I want. I've been playing with the idea of rewriting the story of King Thrushbeard with a woman in the titular role, because I think it would be interesting to play with and perhaps subvert the misogyny inherent in the story type and because it would allow me to write lots of kinky cross-dressing cross-gen dubcon lesbian sex. We shall see.

I know laislabevita and tacky_tramp plan on joining me. Who else is insane doing NaNoWriMo this year?

I'm playing! I'm pulling out an idea I've been working on for years and starting writing all over again.
wow, you have to write that. that story is DISTURBING. eep.
Ooooh, you even have a perfect icon!

I'd never read it until just recently. Definitely disturbing. O_O
I plan on doing this finally for the first time
gosh...I never thought I would need to come up with an idea before hand. Yikes.
Re: I plan on doing this finally for the first time
Well, it helps to have some idea, so you can start writing as close to 12:01 AM 1 November as possible! But then, I'm such a slow writer, I need all the time I can get.
You are cra-zee! I will be lucky to get 5000 words of fanfiction done in one month.

But best of luck. :) And are you sure you don't want to write a 50000 novel about Tezuka and Inui instead?
I find that the key to actually writing 50,000 words in a month is to keep my own expectations very low and then hopefully pleasantly surprise myself. Although now I am kind of tempted to do that whole AU where Inui and Tezuka are samurai ...
I'm going to give it a try. If I can quit pillaging long enough to write a few thousand words at a stretch. Gawd, that sounds so...fearsome when I say it like that :D
My flag's on orders....if they see me in the game, they're to ask me how many words I wrote today :D
Hell yes! Goofy fanfic about the X-actors being given their characters' powers to save on SFX? Ready to rocket, yeah!

Yours sounds much more thought-provoking and interesting, though. I'm just going to have Halle Berry's wig try and take over the world.
Oooooooh, that sounds like so much fun! You can do all kinds of cool stuff with that ...

Does someone drop a bus on Brett Ratner or something?
Despite having about four thousand other projects that I'm in love with, yes, I cannot wait to start!

He is a decoy for the Real Ebil behind the whole shebang. *shifty*
