Wednesday reading — aliens, clones and serial killers

What I've been reading

I read The True Meaning of Smekday, courtesy of a post by [personal profile] norah about how great it is. It is, indeed, that great.

I read The Future is Queer: A Science Fiction Anthology. It was mediocre. There was a really terrible story about how in the future LGBT acceptance will make it boring to be gay so a bunch of gay people will set up secret enclaves where they pretend to belong to time periods that they find more interesting and they also somehow recruit enough homophobes to live there too to be closeted from and yet no one outside knows that they exist. I don't even know. I kind of liked the clonecest story, though.

I read The Shining Girls, Lauren Beukes's time-travelling serial killer book.

I read Cloaked in Red, eight different riffs on Little Red Riding Hood.

What I'm reading next

My ALA YMA books are starting to arrive from the library! I'm not sure where to even begin.
