NaNoMadness

Today I made an impulse purchase from a local science store. It is a copy of Papermaking: the History and Technology of an Ancient Craft.

Because, you know, I may need to boost my novel's wordcount with authoritative details about the papermaking process. Postapocalyptic monasteries will need a lot of paper, you know, and it's not going to make itself!

I swear, this year I am going to win even if all I do all month is type and chug energy drinks.

Quick poll:

Poll #1289054 NaNoWriMo 2008

Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year?

Yes, God help me.
7(46.7%)
Good lord, no.

Nanowhatmo?
1(6.7%)

Do you want to talk about it? (Show me on the doll where NaNoWriMo touched you.)

Egad, fifteen more minutes left.

Mebbee sometime we could go out and drink coffee and write words together. It would be like being social? But without having to talk.
I probably still have the text of that nano attempt in the hard drive. I seem to recall it was a lot of tedium about cooking until I went crazy and scrapped it (after about maybe six to eight hours in the life of Angela Agape Whateverherlastnamewas).
Not to mention the series of open letters at the beginning!

I don't think Ho-Bob ever even got introduced, much less referred to as Ho-Bob. Poor Ho-Bob.

If you don't have it, I'm pretty sure I still do.
Time for me to go to bed
so that I don't see the clock switch to midnight. Otherwise I feel I should be starting...and while who needs that so early in the process.

500 words down so far.... 1% of the way there! =D

I've got another girl on my flist who is doing NaNo in NYC. Her sn on the site is sunandmoonspoon. I dont know why i felt the urge to say that...
I think I figured out a way to pad my count when i get to the caveman scenes. Have them be all shakesperian eloquent, very flower language in the rough draft, but put in it carrots. Like, "<

I think I figured out a way to pad my count when i get to the caveman scenes. Have them be all shakesperian eloquent, very flower language in the rough draft, but put in it carrots. Like, "<<Oh, my goodness. It does seem to me that the spike tailed horrendous monster thing has impailed our good friend Oog the Fastidious. What a pity.>>" which, when I make up the cave-language, would come out something like. "Oog harn fwap. Ip."
I came up with a plan for Nano last year and promised Bev I would do it this year. So I will.

Thankfully, I have lots of free times this November, so my only excuses will be simple exhaustion with the effort, gaming, and.. I dunno.
